MIX OF TEXTURES IN A RENOVATION BY DH LIBERTY

Skip Stop House project is a clear example of that creating a pleasant full-of-personality space within a small budget is possible. It is a work by the hand of British studio Design Haus Liberty, who has turned a building in the London district of Marylebone into these lovely apartments. The core idea of the project was "to use the palette that was already there" in order to make the most of the budget. This way, many of the original walls have been left in plain sight, producing a combination of textures that also talks about the history of the building itself.

A design detail that I love is the flooring, with which it has been done a soft transition between the living-room wooden boards and the kitchen white quartz tiles. By being both cut to the same dimensions, a very beautiful and peculiar pattern is created.

El proyecto Skip Stop House es un claro ejemplo de que crear un espacio agradable y con personalidad con un presupuesto reducido sí es posible.  La obra ha corrido a cargo del estudio británico Design Haus Liberty, que han transformado un edificio del distrito londinense de Marylebone en estos preciosos apartamentos. La máxima del proyecto era "usar la paleta que ya estaba allí" para ajustar el presupuesto al máximo. Así, muchas paredes originales se han dejado al descubierto, creando una combinación de texturas que también habla de la historia del edificio.

Un detalle de diseño que me encanta es el pavimento, con el que se ha realizado una suave transición entre el suelo de madera del estar y los azulejos de cuarzo blanco de la cocina. Cortados con las mismas dimensiones, se crea un patrón peculiar y muy hermoso.
